They do sing in church, but it’s often described as a “deeply lonely and sorrowful” sound. However, rumors say some Amish secretly blast country music when they’re hitching a ride in a “worldly” car. Even they can’t resist a good chorus!
4. The No-Selfie Policy

Trying to get an Amish person to pose for a selfie is like trying to find a plug socket in an Amish barn—it ain’t happening. Photography is seen as an act of vanity. If you do see them in a documentary, notice how they never look directly at the lens. Some are okay with “candid” shots, but posing is a spiritual dealbreaker.
